Perry stopped by Pampa to help out the incumbent member of the Texas State Legislature.
He focused on small business and how Texas is making great strides in the oil and gas industries once again but he talked in length about cutting spending.
The governor also commented on the rainy day fund saying that it allows Texas higher bond rates and lower interest rates.
And another topic covered in Perry's speech was duplicate programs and agencies that could be cut.
The Governor stayed around to chat with residents and take a few pictures before heading out of town.
