PAMPA -- In one week, Pampa voters will decide whether to approve funding for a new animal shelter.
The May 12th ballot will include a proposition for the new shelter, at the cost of 2.9-millions dollars.
Shelter workers say they've heard oposition because of the cost.
But they say cheaper facilities will become out-dated quickly.

They say a new shelter is a matter of safety.
Workers say it's also an issue of their safety.
They say a new facility will cut back on bites, and spread of disease.
