JOPLIN, MO-- Joplin's new mayor says she is honored to mark a milestone in Joplin history. She's the first African-American to hold the post and also one of the few women to ever serve.
Colbert-Kean is just the fourth female mayor - the first being in 1972. She hopes to inspire other women in the area to follow their dreams.
