By: Suzanne Burnette
Updated: May 23, 2012
With 99-percent of the vote counted in the House District 4 Democratic race, it looks like there will be a runoff between the top two candidates.

Gene Jeffress is leading with 43-percent of the vote.

Q, Byrum Hurst is second with 35-percent and D.C. Morrison is third with 21-percent of the vote.

Early Wednesday morning, Hurst issued the following statement:

"Now more than ever, this race is about moving Arkansas forward. In just three months, thanks to Arkansans across this district, we have put together a campaign focused on tackling the tough challenges facing this state and this nation. This district deserves a representative committed to building on the successful track record of Congressman Mike Ross and a leader who understands our community and our values. Over the coming weeks, I look forward to a spirited campaign and the opportunity to meet people across this district to show that I am the candidate who is willing to fight for you to create jobs and honor our obligations to seniors."
