Santorum Dropping Out of 2012 Presidential Race

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum is getting out of the race for the GOP presidential nomination.

Santorum made the announcement Tuesday during a press conference. In recent months, Santorum became the prime challenger to fellow GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney. The announcement comes just weeks before primaries in New York and Santorum's home state of Pennsylvania.

Many analysts say Santorum's decision seals the deal for Mitt Romney as the likely GOP candidate.
