A bill to let county boards include the name of a specific project, if it the county board seeks voter approval for a sales tax, is now headed to the governor. An Illinois House amendment passed the Illinois Senate Wednesday. The bill is meant to avoid the kind of confusion that occurred with the recent Peoria County sales tax referendum to help fund the multi million dollar riverfront museum. If you recall, the word " museum" wasnt included in the wording of the referendum. Its hoped this new law will clarify the situation.
