14 Year old Peorian Convicted of Armed Robbery

A 14 year old Peorian, indicted as an adult for a recent armed robbery, was found guilty Friday of armed robbery with a firearm. The teenager is one of two boys charged with the October 21st holdup at the Downtown 66 gas station. Prosecutors claim the 14 year old and a 16 year old entered the gas station, the 14 year old allegedly pulled a gun while the 16 year old ran behind the counter and took about 500 dollars before fleeing. Police were tipped to the boys after the clerk said he recognized one of them and a fingerprint was lifted from the crime scene. The 14 year old, who faces from 21 to 45 years in prison, will be sentenced July 10th. The 16 year old is back in court June fourth.
