Two suspects, nabbed in connection with a recent Peoria carjacking and shooting on the citys south side, were indicted Tuesday. Julio Perkins is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a weapon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. Meantime, 25 year old Shalimar Berry is named in a seven count indictment for the same incident last month on Saratoga. Police say they responded to a call, found Berry firing a gun at one of the carjacking victims who was hit in the knee. Berry is charged with three counts of attempted murder, one count each of aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated battery with a firearm, possession of a weapon by a felon, and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. Both suspects will enter a plea to the indictment on Thursday.
