Man Threatens to Jump off Peoria Bridge

WMBD/WYZZ – PEORIA - A touch-and-go situation Friday morning on the Bob Micheal Bridge as police prevent a possible suicide attempt.
Both lanes of traffic were blocked off for a period of time. East Peoria and Peoria police responded just before 3:00 a.m. to reports of a man sitting on the side of the bridge. Once they arrived, they blocked of East and West bound traffic. As a precaution, a boat was called out into the vicinity.
Less than an hour later after they arrived , police convinced the man to come to safety. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
