Follow a Brain Surgery on Twitter

By: Christy Stelzer WMBD/WYZZ Reporter
Updated: April 30, 2009

WMBD/WYZZ- Bloomington- You might not ever have brain surgery or even be able to watch one in progress, but now you can follow one on Twitter. OSF Saint Joseph's Medical Center in Bloomington followed a brain surgery through the online social networking website. Marketing Specialist Rachel Wakefield "Twittered" Thursday's entire procedure. Basically, she wrote what she was seeing as it happened in short messages, or "Tweets." The patient had a brain tumor removed, so you would see "Tweets" like, "The scalp is flapped open." If you want to go back and follow the step-by-step surgery, click here.
