WMBD/WYZZ TV – POERIA -- Rusting and bubbling. That's how the Illinois Secretary of State's Office is describing a batch of faulty license plates. The office is notifying drivers with plates made from 2001 to 2003 that the plates may have worn prematurely and could be difficult to read. Un-legible plates can lead to a ticket but the state will replace those plates for free. If you have a faulty plate, contact the Secretary of State's Office.
