Updated: April 24, 2009
A Bloomington teenager, indicted for an alleged hate crime incident earlier this month, pleaded NOT GUILTY Friday in McLean County Circuit Court. 19 year old Brett Lane is facing two counts of aggravated battery and one count of hate crime. Authorities believe Lane may be one of a group of at least four teenage boys who attacked a man in Bloomington on North Mason Street. Police say the man was assaulted after running outside to help his sister who was being blocked in her car by a group of juveniles. Lane is free on bond pending his next court appearance May 22nd.
