WMBD/WYZZ TV – PEORIA -- With the current economy a lot
of people are under stress. One Peoria therapist says art may be the
answer to release that anxiety. Today Dr. Ted Chapin held an art therapy event
at the ContemporaryArtCenter in Peoria. He offered a free therapy session
to the public, since Chapin says so many people are weighed down by the
economy. Dr. Chapin taught therapeutic guided imagery, and dance as a way to
act out and relieve stress. This is the first time for the event. Organizers
expect about 100 people to attend. If this year is a success, they'll put on
the event again next year.
