WMBD/WYZZ TV - PEORIA -- Central Illinois is getting a cut of the federal stimulus fund. This morning local leaders were going over who's getting what.
The Peoria-Pekin Urbanized Area Transportation Study or PPUATS, shows transportation and highway improvement are major items on tap for getting a chunk of the president's stimulus fund. Roadways and transportation are issues that concern residents on a daily basis and leaders plan to treat them as top priority.
Pekin's City Manager, Dennis Kief, says, "Peoria is working on a project on Northmoor. I know in Pekin we're looking at doing projects on Parkway Drive. So some will be project driven and others will be more maintenance overlay type projects."
