WMBD/WYZZ— Normal— More and more people are "going green,” now you can make environmentally friendly choices when you are away from home. The Illinois Hotel and Lodging Association is recognizing hotels making earth-friendly choices. Candlewood Suites in Normal was the first "Stay Green" hotel in Illinois. They are recognized for saving energy and recycling. In fact, you will find a recycling bin on every floor of the hotel. Plus, the hotel's refrigerators and washer and dryers are energy star appliances. They also use water-saver shower heads, faucets and toilets. The hotel saves water, energy, and uses less detergent by washing their bed sheets once a week as opposed to every day.
