A bill letting Governor Pat Quinn assume the Lt. Governors duties arrived in the Illinois Senate Wednesday, having already passed in the Illinois House. Under the changes in this bill, the governor would have the authority to manage the employees of the Lt. Governors office while continuing to head up all duties of the Lt. Governor. The Lt. Governors office is vacant because Quinn, who was Lt. Governor, became Governor when former Governor Rod Blagojevich was impeached and tossed out of office by Illinois lawmakers.
