Peoria Police believe theyve solved two recent weekend crimes with the indictment Tuesday of two Peorians. 34 year old Frank McClendon is charged with two counts of attempted aggravated robbery for a March 14th holdup attempt in the 1800 block of West Lincoln. Police say the robber pointed a gun at a citizen in the alley but the robber was chased away when another man confronted the suspect with a broom stick. A short time later, police arrested 32 year old Edward McBride for a holdup at the Top of the Hill Bar and Grill. Police say the suspect ordered a beer, jumped the bar and grabbed the bartender claiming to have a gun. McBride is facing one count of aggravated robbery. Bond was set at 100 thousand dollars for McClendon and McBride and both will appear in court Thursday.
