WMBD/WYZZ— LeRoy— The father who allegedly kidnapped his two sons has had run-ins with the police in the past. Michael Connolly was granted unsupervised visitation despite his past court violations. According to Leroy Police Incident Reports, Connolly has violated his order of protection with his ex-wife, Amy Leichtenberg 57 times. Connolly allegedly kidnapped his two sons, nine-year-old Duncan and seven-year-old Jack. Leichtenberg’s attorney, Helen Ogar, says despite his past court violations, Connolly was granted unsupervised visitation because his suicidal level was low and he was not believed to be a threat to the children. Ogar disagreed and says Connolly repeatedly called the mother threatening to kill himself in the past. McLean County State's Attorney Bill Yoder says he met Connolly before the abduction during one of his violations and was able to form an opinion of Connolly early-on. So, when the kids went missing, Yoder did not waste any time to approve the search warrant.  This case continues to get national attention, it will be mentioned on Fox’s “America's Most Wanted” at 8 o'clock on Saturday. If you have any information on the missing boys, call your local police station or the McLean County Sheriff's Department.
