WMBD/WYZZ TV – PEORIA -- Meanwhile, Governor Quinn is wasting no time in his efforts to rally support for his newly revealed state budget. Illinois top man stops by Peoria's Neighborhood House to talk about how the budget will affect people here in Central Illinois.

The governor emphasized his goal of improving education. His plan lays out 100-million-dollars for construction on private universities. Bradley University hopes to get some of those funds. Illinois Central College says it could see 250-thousand-dollars on top of what was allotted in last years budget. Educators say it's money needed because of growing enrollment.

Quinn also discussed the state's unpaid bills which amount to 11-billion-dollars. Quinn hopes to make headway on those by the first of June.
