WMBD/WYZZ— Pontiac— Following around Governor Quinn has paid off for Pontiac’s mayor. Scott McCoy went to a meeting Monday Quinn was attending and spoke with him about the need to keep Pontiac’s prison open. McCoy says Quinn told him he is impressed with Pontiac, but could not tell him what was going to happen. Former Governor Rod Blagojevich slated the prison to close in December. McCoy says Quinn will look at all of the facts and make a decision.
"I get a feeling this is just my personal feeling that he's holding out for his budget, he's going to have something in there that either tells it like it is or hints at it and that will be our cue we can expect the prison to stick around," McCoy said.
