WMBD/WYZZ TV – PEORIA -- The Center for Disease Control
says one in 150 children are born with autism. After District 150 cut their
budget, Richwood’s autism class needs financial help more than ever. Richwood’s
special education teacher, Ginger Menees, lost two thirds of her yearly budget.
Now, she only has one hundred dollars to
buy supplies for her autistic students. She's now tapping into her own pocket. Because
her students are autistic, she needs special items to calm them, and help them
prepare for life after high school. If you'd like to know which items the
autistic class and Richwoods needs, you can call them at 693-4400.
