WMBD/WYZZ – PEORIA - The Justice Department indictment against an alleged terrorist from Peoria is unsealed Friday. Ali Al-Marri was arrested in West Peoria three months after 9-11 and was later declared an enemy combatant by President George Bush. For five and a half years, Al-Marri has been locked up in isolation at a U.S. Naval Brig in South Carolina, suspected of being an Al Qaeda sleeper agent. He is the only enemy combatant being held without charges in the United States. There is no timeline on when Al-Marri will be moved back to Peoria to answer charges of supporting terrorists.
