Fire Damages Pekin Home

A Pekin woman is homeless Tuesday night after fire damaged her home Tuesday afternoon. Authorities say they were called to the Rose Jordan home at 1003 Amanda Street. One person at the home received a minor burn and was treated at the hospital. Firemen say when first units arrived, heavy smoke was pouring from the home. Firemen say two rooms appeared gutted. The Red Cross is helping the family with clothing, food and shelter. No word yet on the cause of the fire or the dollar damage estimate.
