WMBD/WYZZ TV – WASHINGTONDC -- As local leaders bank on big bucks from the feds, Illinois new governor heads to our nation's capitol to meet with lawmakers. After a weekend stop in Peoria, Governor Pat Quinn appeared at the capitol Tuesday to help bring federal money to the Land of Lincoln. Quinn met with senator dick Durbin and members of the Illinois congressional delegation to discuss the recovery and re-investment act. According to Durbin's office, the stimulus bill could create or save over 200,000 jobs across the state by the end of 2010, and could bring about 25 billion in federal funding to Illinois.
