Energy Assistance for Winter

WMBD/WYZZ TV - PEORIA -- Help is available for those who are having trouble paying their utility bills.
The Energy Services Department at Peoria Citizens Committee for Economic Opportunity, Incorporated is hosting an Energy Assistance Application Day on Wednesday, from nine in the morning to one in the afternoon. The event is at the Kickapoo Township, located at 10025 W. Route 150. This is for residents of Peoria County who need help with their utility bills. Eligible applicants for this one-time utility payment must meet income guidelines and cannot have received Energy Assistance from PCCEO since September 1, 2008. Applications will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.
You must bring your most recent utility bill, proof of household income for the past 30 days, and social security cards for everyone living in the household. For more information about energy assistance call (309) 671-3900.
Wednesday isn't the only day to sign up, if you need assistance applications will also be available on Wednesday, January 28th, from noon to four at Kings Park Mobile Homes in Peoria, and Thursday from nine to one at Timber Township Office in Glasford.
