Fitness Trial for Murder Suspect

A Seneca man, charged with killing the parents of a Normal woman, will undergo a fitness trial Wednesday in LaSalle County Circuit Court. A jury of seven women and five was picked Tuesday to hear the fitness status of 40 year old Keith Mackowiak. Hes charged with the murders of Aloysis and Catherine Twardoski of Rural Seneca in 2007. They were found inside their home just west of Seneca during a burglary nearly two years ago. According to LaSalle County States Attorney Brian Towne says during one of his first court appearances in 2007, Mackowiak tried to plead guilty but the judge stopped him.
