Red Cross Needs Blood

WMBD/WYZZ— Bloomington— Every two seconds, someone in the US needs blood, so the American Red Cross of the Heartland is reaching out to you for donations. People came to the Red Cross in Bloomington Thursday to give blood. The Red Cross is especially looking for types "O" and "B" donors. The Red Cross currently has a one-day supply but say they need at least a three to five-day supply to get by. Organizers say they usually see fewer donations during winter months. There is another blood drive in Bloomington on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Miller Park Zoo; if you donate you get a free one-day pass.
