WMBD/WYZZ TV – PEORIA -- 5 to 10 percent, that's how much Peoria Civic Center managers plan to cut from each department. Executive Director Debbie Ritschel, says they'll trim non-personnel budget. That means conference and travel expenses will be shaved. The goal is to save $100,000 off of the center's six-and-a-half million dollar budget. Ritschel says, part of the problem is managers for many bands across the nation are cautious about booking shows in Peoria. The Civic Center's new budget will begin in September.
