Peorian Receives 20 Years on Drug Charge

A Peoria man, convicted of drug dealing charges, was sentenced Friday to 20 years in prison, according to court officials. Brandon L. Smith was convicted of criminal drug conspiracy and calculated criminal drug conspiracy as well as possession of more than 900 grams of coaine with intent to deliver. The defense maintained throughout the trial nothing tied Smith to the charges. Prosecutors claim there had been drug dealing in late 2010 and 2011 when police raided three homes in Peoria.
