Illinois House Okays Ownership Change for Wildlife Prairie

The Illinois House Friday passed a bill allowing the transfer of ownership of Wildlife Prairie State Park in Peoria County to a non profit group, Friends of Wildlife Prairie Park. Local representatives Mike Unes of East Peoria and Jehan Gordon Booth of Peoria are co sponsors of the bill. It would allow the non profit to move forward with improvements to the park without being hindered by the state's budget situation. The bill now heads to the Illinois Senate for consideration.
