PEORIA - Big Brothers Big Sisters is hoping for a strike in its biggest fundraiser of the year.
This weekend is the 'Bowl for Kids' Sake' at Landmark Lanes in Peoria. People can come out in teams of up to six people, or just show up and join a lane.
The entry fee is $100, but the organization promises a free T-shirt, door prizes, raffle items and food from Avantis.
Executive Director, Jeff Parmenter said that all of the proceeds go to helping local big brothers and sister pairs.
"It goes towards helping us provide, build our infrastructure here to be able to provide our services. We need folks here to make sure that we're getting the background checks done on the folks and support and build healthy relationships out in the community," Parmenter said.
You can come out and bowl from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
