ISU Women Win WNIT Opener Thursday

WMBD/WYZZ-TV - NORMAL, Ill. - After trailing for most of the first half, Illinois State outscored IUPUI, 15-4, to start the second half en route to a 63-47 first-round Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) victory Thursday night on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena.
Illinois
State shot 56.8 percent from the field and 90.0 percent from the free throw
line, while the Jaguars were limited to 36.5 percent shooting and a 43.8
percent clip from the foul stripe. Janae smith and Candace Sykes led ISU with 15 points each, while Jamie Russell contributed 12.

Goss netted 19 points to lead IUPUI.
