A man was indicted Wednesday in connection with three armed robberies of a Normal grocery store including the last holdup which left him hospitalized after being shot by a security officer. Jason Reeves is charged with three counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated assault. The three holdups were at the Kroger on College Avenue January 1, February 16 and March 10th. Police claim an off duty Chenoa police officer, Andrew Smith, who was the security guard at Kroger on March 10th confronted Reeves who produced what appeared to be a handgun but turned out to be an air pistol aand shot Reeves multiple times. Since Smith didn't have time to determine whether Reeves weapon was real, the McLean County States Attorney Jason Chambers says he is not charging Smith. Reeves remains hospitalized.
