Father of Deceased Peoria High Student Charged with Neglect

PEORIA- The father of a Peoria High School student, who died last month, was charged Friday with neglecting his son. 40 year old Darnell Hunter is facing one count of criminal neglect to a disabled person. The charge claims, as the caregiver to his son, Darnell,Junior, Hunter failed to provide adequate nutrition and medical treatment. An autopsy revealed Darnell Junior died of an inflammation to the stomach and bronchopneumonia but also claimed a contributing factor was malnutrition. Bond for Hunter was set at 200 thousand dollars.
