Three men, with ties to the Peoria area, were identified Thursday as victims of a two vehicle wreck in Central Florida near Sorrento Wednesday night. Police say 44 year old Ronald Horton, who was from Camp Grove apparently lost control of his convertible which skidded into the path of a pickup truck. Horton was ejected and pronounced dead. His two passengers and a dog in the car were also killed. Those passengers were 36 year old Michael Sievert of Rome, Illinois and Drew Bannister who was from Chillicothe. State Police say no one in the car was wearing a seat belt. The crash remains under investigation. Horton was convicted in Peoria County of reckless homicide in the June 1998 crash which killed his cousin and the other driver. He was sentenced to seven years in prison and was released from prison in 2003, according to court records.
