Sister Judith Ann has lived to see seven
different Popes, leading the church through its share of trials and
tribulations.
She said she's excited to get to know
the newest Pontiff. She said, "God sends who the world needs at particular
times so they each bring their own gifts and talents."
For her, Pope Francis has already done
something right. She said, "I love that he picked the name Francis!"
She said St. Francis took care of the
poor and the needy, a task she and her fellow sisters strive to do every day. "I
think that simplicity and that spirit of St. Francis and that focus is going to
be so good and healthy for our world today."
In today's modern world, the number of
Catholics who strongly practice the faith is the lowest it's been in four
decades.
Sister Judith Ann said she believes Pope
Francis has the qualities to bring back those who may have gone astray. "When
he first spoke from the balcony that it will be in a way that many more people
will be able to identify with and understand his message and be drawn."
The first ever "Francis" and first ever Pope from Latin America, she hopes he'll inspire billions of people across the world.
