PEORIA - A bone from the body of
religious figure Mary Magdalene is made a stop in Peoria.
The traveling display comes from
France and it's making its way through catholic churches across the country.
Leaders said seeing the relic is a
once in a lifetime opportunity. Deb Shanahan, a catholic, said seeing it on
display was amazing. "We have a piece of bone from Mary Magdalene and that's
amazing because it's a part of her earthly body. Because she's in heaven and
that she's here in my church."
The traveling display is also stopping
at other churches in central Illinois.
It will be at St. John Church in Princeville on Thursday, March 14 and at St. Philomena Church on Friday, March 15.
