By: Bob Larson
Updated: March 12, 2013

A Tazewell County judge ruled Tuesday hearsay statements can't be used by prosecutors in the upcoming murder trial of a Wisconsin woman accused of killing her mother in Marquette Heights, according to court officials . 43 year old Gina Gonzalez is facing two counts of murder for the death of 60 year old Queen Phan.  Police were called to Phan's home on Lincoln Road December 21, 2011. Gonzalez allegedly told police she and Phan had argued a few days earlier when Phan swung a chair at Gonzalez and fell to the ground hitting her head. Police say Gonzalez claims she went to Wisconsin and when she returned, she found her mother unresponsive. Gonzalez will be back in court April 9th.
