The governor's proposed state budget may slash state tax funds for cities like Bloomington, according to a release from the city Tuesday. After hearing the governor announced his proposed 2014 budget, Bloomington officials say they could lose $881,015 each year. The tax funds are utilized by Bloomington for items such as public safety, capital equipment , street resurfacing , vehicles and sidewalk repair. Bloomington's city manager is now inviting the community to begin calling, mailing or e mailing the governor, and local political leaders to voice their concern about the budget proposal.
