MORTON - U.S. Representative Adam Kinzinger was in Morton tonight to talk to Tazewell County Republicans about the current situation of the federal budget
Kinzinger was the keynote speaker at the county's annual Lincoln Day Dinner at the Ashland House in Morton.
One of the biggest topics - the sequester cuts.
Kinzinger said that general budget cuts need to be made - but Washington has to take a good look at if they are cutting in the right areas.
The Representative said, "If there is an end to this sequester, it will be in the context of the bigger deal. That is going to include cuts. The President talks about needing a balanced approach. I agree. He got his revenue at the end of the year - now it is time for cuts."
The U.S. Senate is back in session tomorrow.
The House picks back up on Tuesday.
