PEORIA- New regulations mean that airplane passengers will soon be able to carry small knives, baseball bats, golf clubs and other sports gear on board.
The Transport Security Administration's new policy will allow passengers to carry folding knives with blades that are just over two inches in length.
The TSA says the policy is aimed at allowing security to focus efforts on greater security threats.
We asked people at the airport what this means for passenger safety and got a mixed response.
"If the TSA feels like it's OK for people to bring on knives then it's their right to do it," said Raynor Bourlet.
"It doesn't really make me feel more or less safe," said Andrea Wynn.
"Those objects do not sound like things I would want on the plane," said Michelle Fox.
The new TSA policy goes into effect April 25th.
