Local Judge Reassigned Over Comments

A local judge was reassigned after making controversial comments about race, according to a release from Chief Judge Michael Brandt. Judge Michael Risinger was reappointed to the civil court
after a note surfaced in which Risinger said he considers factors like race and attire when sentencing. The note was one of more than 20 that Risinger used during a discussion about misdemeanor court. Chief Judge Brandt says there's no evidence Risinger committed any judicial misconduct but says the remarks are inappropriate.
