Lawmakers Pass Amendments to Ban Semi Automatic Weapons

By: Bob Larson
Updated: March 5, 2013

Illinois lawmakers passed several amendments Tuesday including one to ban semi automatic weapons and pistols as part of the statewide concealed carry law. They voted Tuesday on specific details which could be part of the final law. They also okayed a measure to require certain guns to have locks when not in use. However, some lawmakers aren't happy about the unusual way the law is being pieced together.Republicans refused to vote on the matter saying the Democrats were putting politics ahead of public safety.  Illinois House leaders say doing test votes is the best way to gauge what should be in the final gun control package. They have to come to an agreement by June 9th.

Comments

The only ban there should be is on Illinois lawmakers , the politions and news media . Illinois has done a good job of douchaflying America . If we will ever have the chance to carry in this state , and having a ban on semi auto pistols , we might as well use a blow gun or maybe as the VP says , buy a shot gun or better yet Vomit . But if you Vomit more then 8 times tha would be semi automatic vomit , so you would get arresedt as well . I will stick to Farting , that is the only form of clear communication lawmakers understand . They sure like to try to pass as much BullDung as possible .
