PEORIA COUNTY- A blanket of white covers fields in Peoria county, and one farmer says it's a welcome sight.
A drought left the same fields dry this past summer, but now farmer Ross Pauli said there is some hope for a better season this year.
Pauli said the much needed moisture is helping his soil, and he hopes the weather cooperates come planting season.
"We should be good to go as long as we can get some dry times in the spring come mid to late April and first of May to get the corn and the soy beans planted," Pauli said.
Pauli said the forecast rain for early next week will also help as it melts the snow and creates even more moisture.
