McLean Co. Train Incident Victim Positively Identified (UPDATE)

The victim of a weekend train accident in Chenoa was positively identified Monday with help from the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services. McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling says the victim was 53 year old Anthony Bernardini , last of Spring Valley. He was reportedly struck by an Amtrak passenger train Friday near Route 24 and Morehead in Chenoa. An autopsy conducted Monday indicated the preliminary cause of death multiple blunt force injuries as a result of being struck by the train. According to a release from Kimmerling on Saturday, alcohol may have been a factor and toxicology tests will be ordered. Mr. Bernardini was living with family in Chenoa and more than likely was walking home when the incident occurred.
