BLOOMINGTON- Big planes filled with extra passengers are flying into the Central Illinois Regional Airport.

Its carrier, Delta Airlines recently debuted its new Airbus 319.

The plane, with 126 passenger seats, has the ability to now hold an additional 50 people.

The first flight came in this weekend.

Bloomington airport staff member Randy Fight says it was nearly full, and that's a good sign travel rates are going up.

"It just allows us to not have oversold flights and more capacity to get out in the morning," Fight explained.  "The morning flights are usually full so there will be more seats available and it will make it easier for people to get out."
