Former Judge & Mayor Michael O'Brien Is Remembered By Friends

PEORIA--Peoria is remembering former Judge and Mayor Michael O'Brien.
  The 82 year old passed away Friday. 
Mayor O'Brien worked as the Assistant State's Attorney for the State of Illinois from 19-66 until 19-69.

In 19-69, he was elected Mayor of Peoria and served until 19-73.
In 19-90 he was  appointed  Associate Judge for the 10th Judicial Circuit.
He retired from the bench in 2001.

Peoria County State's Attorney Jerry Brady says O'Brien believed in his work and brought laughter to the work place.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30am, Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at St Philomena Catholic Church. Fr. David Richardson will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4:00pm-8:00pm, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary.
