PEORIA- Visitors huddled around the first of many fish feeding demonstrations inside Peoria's Riverfront Museum Saturday.
Noses pressed against the glass, visitors got a glimpse of the finned natives in the Illinois River.
Ryan Calhoun from Aquamoon Aquarium Company taught families about the different species and how the fish live.
"You know, everyone needs to know where the building blocks of the area come from and around here it's the Illinois river. Peoria was built and established here because of the river and the fish have a lot to do with that," Calhoun said
You can catch these demonstrations on the first Saturday of every month at the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
