The state of Illinois approved the expansion of the enterprise zone into downtown Bloomington, according to Bloomington officials Thursday. The city says that enables the jurisdictions of Bloomington, Normal and McLean County to provide businesses located within the zone various incentives to help induce redevelopment as well as create and retain jobs. The application sought to
amend the boundaries of the zone in order to cover about 185 acres of property centered around
101 N. Main Street in Bloomington.
