PEORIA - A local cosmetology school is Taking Action for heart health.
Peoria's Tricoci University presented a check to the American Heart Association Wednesday. It raised the money by hosting a red dress fashion show. The school says its students believe in Taking Action to help others.
"I feel like they took away what it means to help the community," said Tricoci University enrollment advisor Tori Johnson. "Also, to be part of what it is to be a performing arts stylist or make-up artist as well, which really makes them think outside of the box when it comes to what career they would want to go towards after graduation."
Tricoci University raised more than $1,000 for the American Heart Association.
